4 Ways Family Camp Can Make Your Family Stronger

4 Ways Family Camp Can Make Your Family Stronger

If you're looking for ways to strengthen your family's bond or improve your family's relationship, consider taking a unique summer vacation this year. We suggest our all-inclusive Christian family vacation opportunity called Family Camp. During Family Camp week, our goal is to connect you and your family to God and each other.

How does this happen?

Well, here are just 4 ways that Family Camp can help make your family stronger.

1. Spiritual Connection

Sandy Cove's mission is to "help people connect with God and each other in order to be transformed into the image of Christ, through His Word, His creation, and community." Everything we plan for Family Camp fits into this mission.

During worship time, there are fun and meaningful songs that the whole family can participate in—kids, teens, and adults. The Bible teachers address the struggles we all face and tell it like it is from God’s Word. A life coach is available if you’d like someone to help process life and pray with you. We also offer ClubCrib, ClubCove, CrossWalk and Collide to provide spiritual encouragement for children of all ages, birth through college.

2. Fun Together

Families that do things together—particularly fun things—enjoy a closer and stronger relationship.

We have tons of options and opportunities for everyone in your family to have fun together.

For the thrill-seekers, we have zip lining, the Big Swing, waterskiing, tubing, parasailing, kayaking, an indoor rock climbing wall, pedal carts, kayaking, archery and Archery Tag®. And new this year, we have a cargo net and key log rolling.

For the less adventurous, we have mini golf, canoeing, and a craft hunt. And for the youngsters, we even have pony rides.

Of course, we also have traditional camp activities that everyone loves—swimming, basketball, softball, volleyball, shuffleboard, and tennis.

3. Family Meals

There's something powerful about sharing a meal together.

During your normal routine, it may be hard to gather everyone around the table one time a day for a meal together. Well, at Family Camp, we want your family to enjoy all 3 meals together every day!

During meals, engage in conversation. Tell jokes. Share stories. Ask your children what they learned in their Sandy Cove kids club that day, what activity they'd like to do after dinner, or if they'd like to get ice cream at the on-site snack shop (The 10th Hole) the next day. And be intentional about telling them what you've been learning, what you've enjoyed most about the day, or what you look forward to the most before the week is over.

4. Memories Made

The most valuable family "possessions" are shared experiences and memories. At Family Camp, together as a family you can experience God's beautiful creation (we're located on the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay, after all), hear from God's Word, try new things (like the Big Swing or Archery Tag®), and enjoy meeting other families and making new friends.

From zip line adventures and leisurely rounds of mini golf to worship and meals around the table, wonderful lifelong memories are made at Family Camp.

Are you ready to get away from your routine, chores, and responsibilities for several days and be refreshed physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually?

This family bonding vacation will be the easiest you've ever planned. All you need to do is register, pack, and show up! We'll take care of the Bible teaching, worship time, and kids programs, plus your lodging, food, and all the recreational activities. See photos of Family Camp.

Your family is a precious gift from God. Use the time you have together to strengthen your bonds. As you plan your next family vacation, think of Sandy Cove. We'll help you in your goal to grow in Christ and in your relationships with each other.
